Earlier this year, Karma pulled back the curtain on the sleek exterior of the Amaris GT Coupe now, ahead of its official debut at Monterey Car Week, the automaker is revealing the luxurious, tech-forward interior of its upcoming extended-range electric grand tourer.

This is our first full look inside the Amaris, and it confirms that Karma is aiming for the upper echelon of premium EV design blending futuristic controls, handcrafted materials, and performance specs that rival established supercars.

Futuristic Cockpit with a 'Squircle' Steering Wheel

The cabin centers around a striking steering "squircle" a square-steering-wheel hybrid wrapped in Crimson Orbit leather and suede, with exposed carbon fiber trim. In front sits a conventional digital instrument cluster, but flanking it are modern touches:

  • A large infotainment screen mounted low on the dash
  • A third display for the front passenger ideal for entertainment or route tracking
  • A floating gear selector on the center console

While physical buttons are sparse, the dashboard appears to feature capacitive touch controls, signaling a shift toward minimalist, high-tech ergonomics.

Finished in a dramatic two-seat configuration, the Amaris interior showcases:

  • Crimson Orbit leather and suede upholstery
  • Carbon fiber and piano black accents
  • Exposed carbon fiber on the center console and rear structural brace

Even the rear compartment has been thoughtfully sculpted not just for aesthetics, but to accommodate luggage, reinforcing the car’s grand touring mission.

Completing the open-air experience is an electrochromic glass roof, which can switch from transparent to tinted at the touch of a button perfect for adjusting light and temperature without sacrificing views.

Under the skin, the Amaris GT Coupe blends electric performance with long-distance practicality:

  • Dual electric motors
  • Turbocharged four-cylinder range extender (generator)
  • 41.5-kWh battery pack

Total system output? A staggering 708 horsepower and 676 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0–60 mph sprint in under 3.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 165 mph.

With pure electric power, the Amaris delivers up to 100 miles of zero-emission range extendable to over 400 miles when the onboard generator kicks in. It’s the best of both worlds: instant EV torque and cross-country capability.

The Amaris evolves Karma’s signature Comet Line design language, featuring:

  • A sweeping clamshell hood incorporating the brand’s Target lighting signature
  • 22-inch Constellation alloy wheels
  • An all-aluminum space frame chassis, wrapped in a lightweight body made of carbon fiber and aluminum

This combination ensures rigidity, safety, and dynamic handling critical for a high-performance GT.

Karma still plans to begin production in the fourth quarter of 2026, with customer deliveries expected in time for the 2027 model year.

The Amaris will carry a starting price of approximately $200,000, positioning it alongside luxury EVs like the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and Lucid Air Sapphire though more formal pricing will be announced closer to launch.
