From Warhorse to Masterpiece: The Name Says It All
Destrier the name of the noble warhorse ridden by knights in battle.
And like its namesake, this Bugatti carries both strength and nobility.
While the Bolide was all aggression 1,600 horsepower, razor-sharp wings, open vents screaming for airflow the Destrier turns down the noise and cranks up the poetry.
Built around the Bolide’s carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the Destrier stands at just 39.4 inches tall making it the lowest car Bugatti has ever created.
Yet instead of shouting, it whispers.
With clean lines, flowing surfaces, and proportions so exaggerated they look drawn by hand.
Design: Where Emotion Meets Engineering
Frank Heyl, Bugatti’s Director of Design, puts it perfectly:
The Destrier is not a car you understand with your head. It is a car you feel with your heart.
And that feeling starts with its silhouette.
Gone are the Bolide’s massive rear wing and aggressive dive planes.
In their place? A subtle, integrated rear spoiler inspired by the elegant Chiron Profilée.
The signature C-line flows along the side, vanishing behind the front wheel arch before re-emerging into the wide horseshoe grille now refined, not ravenous.
The cabin sits low between flared fenders, then the body pinches dramatically behind the doors, only to swell over the rear wheels creating a sense of tension and motion even when standing still.
It’s automotive haute couture.
A shape that feels like it escaped from a concept sketchbook and somehow came to life.

Sapphire Celeste: Paint That Glows Like the Past
Every inch of the exterior tells a story.
The custom hue, named Sapphire Celeste, is a deep blue infused with diamond-like particles that catch the light like liquid starlight.
Polished aluminum trim and tinted carbon fiber add contrast modern materials treated with old-world reverence.
And the color isn’t just beautiful it’s historic.
It pays homage to chassis 57591, one of only four Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic models ever made which originally wore a similar shade before being repainted black.
History echoes here.
Not replicated.
Reimagined.
Interior: A Tailor’s Workshop, Not a Race Cockpit
Step inside, and the shift is complete.
Instead, the cabin feels like a luxury atelier where craftsmanship rules over function.
Materials include:
Warm brown leather and nubuck
Custom 3D-knitted textile with woven copper threads forming a circular halo pattern
A seamless, flowing design that wraps around driver and passenger
Inspired by haute couture and high-performance sportswear, the fabric blends beauty with structure soft to the touch, yet engineered to perfection.
Even the details honor the knightly theme:
Hammered aluminum finishes on steering wheel hub, door handles, air vents, and entry plates
Each piece hand-finished to mimic medieval armor
This isn’t a cockpit.

Heart of a Monster: The Same 1,600 HP W16 Lives On
Underneath the elegance beats the same beast.
The quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine, producing 1,578 horsepower (1,600 PS) identical to the Bolide.
But here, the power isn’t about demolishing Nürburgring records.
It’s symbolic.
Because the Destrier follows in the footsteps of the legendary Type 57 a single platform that birthed two icons:
The Le Mans-winning Type 57G Tank
The mythical Type 57SC Atlantic
Now, the Bolide and Destrier do the same.
Programme Solitaire: Only Three So Far, Only Two Per Year
The Destrier is the third masterpiece from Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire an elite tier above even Sur Mesure personalization.
Each vehicle is:

After the haunting Brouillard and the deeply personal FKP Hommage, the Destrier completes a trilogy of emotion.
