The Elantra N has carved out a rare space in today’s automotive world: An affordable, driver-focused performance sedan that delivers more fun than its price tag suggests. Now, Hyundai is celebrating its motorsport roots with a new TCR Edition a special variant inspired by the championship-winning Elantra N TCR race car. But don’t expect more power. This one’s about form, function, and exclusivity.
While the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine remains unchanged at 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque, the TCR Edition isn’t just cosmetic window dressing. It’s built for drivers who take their Ns seriously.
Key upgrades include:
- Adjustable carbon fiber rear wing borrowed from racing spec
- Designed to generate serious downforce on track
- Tunable for different circuits and driving styles
Also new:
- 19-inch forged alloy wheels significantly lighter than standard (exact savings TBD)
- N Performance monoblock brake system with four-piston calipers
- Improved thermal resistance and pedal feel under hard use
These aren't just parts for show they’re functional enhancements for weekend warriors and track-day regulars.
Visually, the TCR Edition wears its racing DNA proudly. From the aggressive carbon wing to the lightweight rollers, it stands out even among standard Elantra Ns. In South Korea, where the model launches first, buyers also get:
- Exclusive body decals
- Oversized "N" logo graphics along the doors and sides
A bold statement especially in a market that loves personalization. Unfortunately, those striking decals won’t make it to U.S. models, but the core visual and performance upgrades will.
Inside, the cabin gets subtle but meaningful touches:
- Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel better grip when things heat up
- TCR-specific badging a reminder of its limited status
- Performance Blue accents Hyundai’s signature hue seen on:
- Seatbelts
- 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel
- Stitching and trim elements
It’s not flashy but it’s focused. Every detail reinforces the car’s performance identity.

As for transmission, official images show the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) suggesting it may be the only option for this edition.
However, Hyundai hasn’t confirmed whether the beloved six-speed manual will be available. Given the TCR’s track focus, either choice makes sense but fans of rowing gears are holding their breath.
Great news for U.S. enthusiasts:
The Elantra N TCR Edition is coming to North America.
Scheduled to arrive in Q1 2026, it’ll join the existing lineup as a limited-production run.
But how many will land here?
Pricing?
Still unconfirmed.
One thing’s certain: it’ll cost more than the current DCT model, which starts at $36,600. The manual starts at $35,100. With forged wheels, upgraded brakes, and exclusive aero, expect a $2,000–$4,000 premium if not more.
Even as the TCR celebrates the current generation, Hyundai is already planning the next chapter.

Officials have confirmed:
Yes there will be another generation of the Elantra N with a gasoline engine. And even better?
It could get a larger engine: the 2.5-liter turbo-four now used in the Kona N and upcoming Sonata N.
If applied, that would mean a significant power bump over today’s 276 HP possibly pushing 300+ horsepower with sharper throttle response and broader torque delivery.
For now, the 2.0L stays but the future looks stronger.
While the Elantra N lives on, its European sibling the i30 N hot hatch likely won’t see a successor.
Due to tightening European emissions regulations, and declining demand for high-performance ICE hatches, Hyundai has signaled that the i30 N is nearing retirement. No official cancellation yet but the writing is on the wall. That makes the Elantra N even more important: It’s not just popular it’s the last global face of Hyundai N performance.
