Even though the Ioniq 6 has been on the market for three years, it still gives off a futuristic vibe almost as if it rolled straight out of a time machine. Hyundai, however, isn’t letting it rest on its unique design. The automaker is already rolling out a mid-cycle refresh for the electric sedan, and it’s just as visually striking perhaps even more so thanks to the new split-headlight setup. The updated front end now includes a separate strip of daytime running lights above, while the main beams are subtly integrated into the bumper's dark trim.

The refreshed Ioniq 6 also introduces a sporty N Line variant. It comes with more aggressive-looking bumpers and a bold two-tone exterior that may divide opinions. Around back, the twin spoilers are gone, replaced with a sleeker ducktail-style aerodynamic piece. The overall look, enhanced by black accents and chunkier bodywork, evokes design cues from the Ioniq 5 N Line crossover. Hyundai also teased the high-performance Ioniq 6 N in some official images, which shows off a prominent rear wing ahead of its full reveal scheduled for July.

One notable user-centric improvement is Hyundai’s decision to stick with physical controls. Responding to customer feedback, the 2026 Ioniq 6 features more tactile buttons than its predecessor. The redesigned lower center console now includes a cluster of traditional controls near the cup holders and wireless charging pad a shift that mirrors the Ioniq 5’s recent update toward analog functionality.

While the full dashboard remains unseen, separate climate controls are still present, with a slightly larger display for added convenience. The model shown is tailored for the South Korean market, where digital side mirrors are allowed, explaining the extra corner-mounted screens on the dash. Additional updates include a fresh three-spoke steering wheel and upgraded cabin materials for a more premium feel.

Both the 2026 Ioniq 6 and the performance-focused Ioniq 6 N made their debut at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show. Technical details are still under wraps, but it’s expected that the sedan will adopt the enhancements recently introduced to the Ioniq 5, including performance upgrades for the top-tier N model.
