Competition in the small but competitive minivan segment is intensifying as the push for electrification prompts major refreshes among competitors. While Honda remains committed to the V6 engine for the 2025 Honda Odyssey, the model is receiving a mild refresh for the new year, featuring a styling update, new features, and an updated lineup. These changes have resulted in a $3,680 increase in the Odyssey's price tag for 2025.

For 2025, the Honda Odyssey no longer offers a base EX trim, making the EX-L the new entry-level option. Pricing for the 2025 Honda Odyssey starts at $43,315 (including destination), a significant jump from the 2024 model, which began at $39,635. However, comparing the EX-L trims of both model years shows a more modest increase of $610 for the 2025 version.

Before diving into the changes for the 2025 Honda Odyssey, it's worth noting that Honda has a history of similar moves with this minivan. In 2022, Honda eliminated the LX trim, causing the price to rise by $4,300. A similar strategy was applied to the 2025 Pilot, with the LX trim being dropped and prices increasing by $2,810. Interestingly, Honda reintroduced the entry-level LX trim for models like the Civic and CR-V in 2023, making these vehicles more affordable.

With a starting price of $43,315, the 2025 Honda Odyssey is among the more expensive options in the minivan segment. It is priced higher than the Toyota Sienna ($39,135), Kia Carnival ($37,895), and Chrysler Pacifica ($41,340). Only the Pacifica PHEV is more costly, at $52,750. Given that the current Honda Odyssey is part of the fifth-generation model introduced in 2018, it’s puzzling why Honda has made its minivan more expensive than its newer competitors.

The 2025 Honda Odyssey's mild refresh includes a larger 9-inch touchscreen featuring the latest software system from the automaker. The van now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the available rear-seat entertainment system boasts larger 12.8-inch screens. The Odyssey’s instrument cluster has been updated to include a 7-inch display alongside a traditional speedometer. The 2025 Honda Odyssey is expected to arrive at dealerships later this month.
