Following the North American debut of the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS in July, the Japanese version is now official and has a different name. Discover the STI Sport, a new trim level offered in the Land of the Rising Sun with almost the same value as its American sibling. It has 17-inch Brembo brakes with ventilated discs front and rear, surrounded by gold calipers behind 18-inch black alloy wheels shod with 215/40 R18 high-performance tires.

Subie upgraded the suspension by installing a Hitachi Astemo Sensitive Frequency Response Damper (SFRD) tuned by STI on the front axle and a differential rear shock tuned by Subaru Tecnica International.

The cosmetic changes end with black side mirror covers and roof antenna, while the 2024 Subaru BRZ logo on the headlights now has a cherry red finish. Inside, the 2024 Subaru BRZ STI Sport features Burgundy/Black suede/leather seats, dark metal trim, and STI-branded start/stop buttons.

Subaru Japan estimates that it will sell 350 units per month and cost 3,762,000 yen. This amounts to approximately $25,400 at current exchange rates. Opt for the automatic model and you'll pay up to $25,800. STI's regional debut is set for September 24 at the 2023 FUJI 86/BRZ STYLE event at Fuji Speedway.

On a related note, the JDM-spec 2024 Subaru BRZ is offered with the EyeSight driver assistance system even on cars with a manual gearbox, featuring the American model.

The Japanese model also gets an updated Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system and different tires for the R-level trim. There are no changes under the hood as the 2024 Subaru BRZ sold in Japan continues with the 2.4-liter petrol engine that sends power to the rear.
