A hundred years ago, Bentley made history. In 1925, the brand introduced the Supersports the first Bentley capable of 100 mph, born from racing glory at Le Mans and built for those who demanded more than luxury. It was raw, powerful, and unapologetically fast.

Now, in 2026, Bentley resurrects that legend. Meet the new Continental GT Supersports not just an evolution, but a revolution. The most driver-focused, extreme, and uncompromising grand tourer Bentley has ever built and yes it’s gloriously not a hybrid.

Under the long hood lies a masterpiece:

The twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine, tuned to deliver 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque making it the most potent non-W12 Continental GT ever offered.

Paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive only, this is the only non-hybrid model in the lineup a deliberate choice to cut complexity and sharpen engagement.

Performance? Brutal.

  • 0–62 mph (100 km/h): 3.7 seconds
  • Top speed: 192 mph

But numbers only tell half the story.

This is about feel. About throttle response. About the mechanical connection between man, machine, and open road.

For a car weighing nearly two tons, every pound counts.

And Bentley went on a diet.

By stripping out:

  • Rear seats
  • Rear audio system
  • Excess sound insulation

They’ve created the lightest Continental GT in history: just under 4,409 lbs (2,000 kg).

That’s over 1,000 pounds lighter than the next-lightest GT Speed variant and a monumental achievement for a full-size British GT.

It’s still no Miata.

But for a hand-built grand tourer wrapped in leather and carbon fiber?

It’s featherweight.

Bentley didn’t just add power they rebuilt the driving experience.

Key upgrades include:

  • Electronic limited-slip differential for precise rear traction
  • Widened rear track by 16 mm for improved stability
  • Torque vectoring with rear-wheel steering for agility and balance
  • Fully recalibrated chassis systems steering, suspension, traction control

Up front, double-wishbone suspension meets multi-link rear setup, both enhanced by Bentley’s advanced 48-volt active anti-roll system able to react to body roll in just 0.3 seconds.

Stopping power comes from what Bentley claims are the largest brakes on any modern production car:

  • Front: 10-piston calipers, 440-mm Carbon-Silicon-Carbide discs
  • Rear: 4-piston calipers, 410-mm discs

They’re not just big they’re fade-proof, even after repeated hard use.

Whether you're cruising the Cotswolds or attacking Romania’s Transfăgărășan Highway, the Supersports adapts:

  • Touring Mode: Softer dampers, raised ride height refined comfort
  • Bentley Mode: Balanced sharpness, ideal for spirited driving
  • Sport Mode: Full attack aggressive throttle, stiff suspension, maximum feedback

And when you unleash it in Sport mode?

The Supersports corners 30% faster than a standard GT Speed, pulling up to 1.3 Gs of lateral grip rivaling supercars like the Koenigsegg CCX.

Visually, subtlety is dead.

The Supersports wears its aggression proudly:

  • Largest front splitter ever fitted to a Bentley
  • Integrated dive planes to reduce lift
  • New bumper, side skirts, and rear diffuser all in exposed carbon fiber
  • One-piece fixed rear wing generating 661 lbs of additional downforce

Even the wheels are special: 22-inch lightweight forged alloys, co-developed with Manthey Racing exclusive to this model.

Every vent, every line, every panel serves purpose.

Inside, luxury meets weight-saving obsession.

No back seats. No rear entertainment. Just focused performance.

Instead:

  • Two low-mounted, highly bolstered bucket seats trimmed in leather, Dinamica, and carbon fiber
  • Slimmed-down front seat frames
  • Optional monotone, dual-tone, or tri-tone configurations fully customizable through Mulliner
  • Removal of rear speakers and extra sound deadening to hear the true symphony of the engine

And what a symphony it is.

Because beneath the rear deck lives a full-length Akrapovič titanium exhaust system light, free-flowing, and thunderous.

Let off the throttle, and the pops and crackles echo like cannon fire.

CEO Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser calls the Supersports “a return to Bentley’s daring side” and his first complete project since joining the brand.

This isn't just the most driver-focused Bentley ever made," he says. "It’s a celebration of 100 years of Supersports spirit bold, bespoke, and engineered without compromise

Production will be strictly limited to 500 individually numbered units worldwide. Order books open in March 2026, with deliveries beginning later that year. Pricing hasn’t been announced but expect a significant jump over the $285,000 starting price of the standard Continental GT. We’re likely looking at well over $400,000 but for such rarity, performance, and heritage? For collectors and purists, it may be worth every penny.
