In a world overflowing with modified Porsche 911s, few truly stand out. But RML Group has shattered the mold with its new GT Hypercar a radical, track-focused evolution of the 992.1-generation 911 Turbo S that blends Le Mans-winning DNA, extreme performance, and exclusive craftsmanship.
Originally teased as the P39 prototype in October, the car is now officially unveiled at Salon Privé UK and it’s even more impressive than expected.
The GT Hypercar isn’t just another widebody tuner special. It draws direct inspiration from one of Porsche’s most iconic race cars: the 1998 Le Mans–winning GT1. Every design cue, aerodynamic upgrade, and engineering choice reflects that legacy blending retro aggression with cutting-edge performance.
And yes, this is a road-legal supercar though its true home is the racetrack.
RML started by reengineering the chassis:
- Extended wheelbase for improved high-speed stability
- Wider front and rear tracks to accommodate wider tires and sharper handling

Under the rear lid lies a heavily modified version of Porsche’s twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine, tuned by Litchfield Motors to unleash 907 horsepower and a massive 738 lb-ft of torque nearly 200 hp more than the stock Turbo S.
While RML hasn’t confirmed transmission details, the car is expected to retain the factory’s 8-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic, recalibrated for faster shifts and track durability.
All that power is sent to all four wheels via Porsche’s advanced AWD system ensuring brutal acceleration without sacrificing grip.
Every GT Hypercar is built for performance, but buyers who opt for one of the 10 Special Edition models receive two major packages:
- Performance Pack: Enhanced cooling, upgraded intercoolers, optimized ECU mapping
- Track Pack:
- Adjustable ride height
- Full rear roll cage
- Rear seat deletion for weight savings
- Motorsport-grade harness mounts
Even standard models are stripped of excess weight where possible, focusing on agility and driver engagement.
When the P39 prototype debuted, RML claimed a 6:45 Nürburgring lap time already faster than most production supercars.
Now, with refinements locked in, the final goal is under 6 minutes 30 seconds which would make it faster than the legendary Porsche 911 GT2 RS Manthey (6:43.3).

For context, that puts it within striking distance of hypercars like the Mercedes-AMG Black Series and Ferrari SF90 Stradale despite being based on a Turbo S.
Production is strictly limited to 39 units worldwide a tribute to the 39 development prototypes tested during RML’s rigorous engineering process.
Of those:
- 10 will be Special Edition models the most track-focused versions available
- Each will be hand-assembled with obsessive attention to detail
The car you see here? That’s one of the ten finished in a livery echoing the original GT1’s bold style.
The RML GT Hypercar made its official public debut this week at Salon Privé, one of the UK’s most prestigious automotive events. With development complete, orders are now open.
While pricing remains undisclosed, expect a substantial premium over the base Turbo S factoring in bespoke engineering, low-volume production, and motorsport-grade upgrades.
