As used car prices remain high and new vehicle costs continue to climb, budget-conscious buyers are searching harder than ever for affordable, well-equipped sedans. The Kia K5 has emerged as a standout choice and for 2026, it remains a compelling option, despite a modest $420 price increase across all trims.
The base K5 LX now starts at $28,565, including the $1,175 destination charge. At the top of the lineup, the EX trim starts at $36,065 a figure that reflects a $5,000 jump from 2024, though that increase came with a major upgrade in standard features.
Kia 2025 refresh didn’t just raise the price it significantly enhanced value. The EX trim now includes a wealth of premium features as standard:
- Bose premium audio system
- 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat
- Heated steering wheel
- Power-folding side mirrors
- Advanced safety suite including forward collision warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control
These additions helped reposition the K5 as a near-luxury sedan at a mainstream price.
For 2026, the K5 carries over largely unchanged. It’s still offered in five trims, with four available in front-wheel drive. The exception is the GT-Line, which now offers all-wheel drive as an option starting at $31,165.

One minor change: the GT trim no longer features the "GT" logo on the brake calipers a small deletion enthusiasts might notice, but one that doesn’t affect performance.
The K5 GT remains the performance flagship, powered by a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine producing 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a quick-shifting 8-speed dual-clutch transmission for sharper response and driving engagement.
All other trims use a naturally aspirated 2.5L four-cylinder, making 191 hp and 181 lb-ft, mated to a conventional 8-speed automatic transmission.
Despite inflation and rising interest rates, the K5 is seeing strong demand. Sales have rebounded significantly in 2025 following the well-received refresh, and the model is on pace to outsell both 2023 and 2024.
