The 2024 Mini Countryman all-electric crossover made its North American debut yesterday, and deliveries are expected to begin in the United States in the fall of next year.

First revealed in Europe earlier this month at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich, Germany, the third national, now fully illuminated, marked this year's Climate Week in New York by participating in a special panel entitled " Driving Forward: The Transformation of the Future of Mobility”. » hosted by Mini's tech startup platform Urban-X at Newlab at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

The automaker did not say that the official press release of the version will be available in the United States, but we know from the European reveal that only two options are expected to be made in Germany: the base Countryman E, which reflects the WLTP system degree of 287 kilometers and the citizen SE ALL4 is more powerful, which can go up to 269 kilometers on a full charge.

In Europe, the base model comes with a single electric motor in the front that makes 201 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, plus a lithium-ion battery of 54-kilowatt, while the citizen SE ALL4 gets a smaller battery 64 kWh. and two electric motors - one front and one rear - for the production of 308 horsepower and 364 lb-ft of torque. Regardless of the model, charging can be done with AC power up to 22 kilowatts, or up to 130 kW from a DC source.

The largest Mini model measures 174.5 inches in length, 72.5 inches in width and 65.1 inches in height, putting it on par – size-wise – with the Volvo XC40 Recharge, which measures 174.2 inches long, 73.3 inches long and 65 inches high. Alongside the new citizen, the BMW Group, which owns Mini, presented the BMW CE-04 electric scooter with a new battery and the BMW iX5 Hydrogen model in Brooklyn.
