Even the already razor-sharp 911 GT3 (992.2) has room to evolve and Porsche, in partnership with its high-performance arm Manthey Racing (majority-owned since 2013), proves that sometimes, more grip is better than more horsepower.
Revealed over a year after the facelifted GT3 launched, the new Manthey Performance Kit transforms an already elite machine into something bordering on race car territory without touching the engine. This isn’t tuning. It’s aerodynamic domination.
At first glance, the most striking change?
Those carbon-fiber aero discs covering the rear wheels.
They give the illusion of asymmetry but beneath lies a set of forged center-lock wheels:
- 20-inch front
- 21-inch rear
The full set sheds 13.2 pounds versus the standard setup crucial unsprung weight savings that sharpen turn-in and reduce inertia and yes, they look like they belong on a Le Mans prototype.
Handling gets a massive leap forward thanks to Manthey’s four-way coilover suspension system:
- Adjustable rebound and compression
- Ride height and anti-roll settings
- All tweakable without tools perfect for quick track-side adjustments
No wrenches. No pit stops. Just dial it in between sessions.
Braided steel brake lines are also added for firmer pedal feel and improved consistency under repeated hard braking. For those who demand ultimate control, this is peak precision.

Want even more bite?
An optional tire upgrade brings:
- Front: 255/35 ZR20
- Rear: 315/30 ZR21
These aren’t just sticky they’re circuit-proven.
If you thought the stock GT3 was aerodynamically aggressive, wait until you see what Manthey has done.
- Rear Wing & Diffuser Upgrades
- Wider rear wing with integrated Gurney flap
- Enlarged end plates that curve inward for cleaner airflow
- Revised rear diffuser with extended vertical fins
- Underbody Optimization
The real magic happens underneath:
- Turning vanes now stretch nearly 59 inches up about 39 inches from before
- A new cover beneath the cargo floor smooths airflow across the underbody
- Front bumper canards and extended diffuser fins complete the front-end package
The result? Downforce figures that defy physics:
- 782 lbs of downforce in road configuration
- An astonishing 1,190 lbs when fully optimized for track use
That’s more than half the car’s weight pressing it into the tarmac at speed.

Numbers are impressive. But laps don’t lie. Driven by reigning DTM champion Ayhancan Güven, the updated GT3 with Manthey kit posted a blistering 6:52.9-minute lap around the Nordschleife. That’s 2.76 seconds faster than the previous-gen GT3 with the prior Manthey package. For context: shaving three seconds off a Ring time is equivalent to adding 50+ horsepower and they did it all through aerodynamics and chassis tuning.
Starting next spring, the Manthey Performance Kit will be available in the United States and here’s the best part:
- It won’t void your factory warranty
- Over 40 Manthey-certified Porsche dealers nationwide can install it
No back-alley modifications. This is factory-sanctioned extremism.
Exact pricing hasn't been announced but we have benchmarks.
For the older 992.1 GT3, the Manthey kit cost $57,300 including labor excluding the $15,500 forged wheel set.
Now, consider this:
- The GT3 RS Manthey Kit costs $116,160
- The GT2 RS version runs $113,140
All prices exclude taxes and dealer fees and none include the price of the car itself.
So yes it’s expensive.
But when you're chasing fractions of a second, cost becomes secondary.
